The Fragments & Rhythm Series

I find there is a strong correlation between jazz music and the rhythmic/chromatic improvisation in painting. In this series I feel that color and form work as equal partners to convey vitality, dissonances and mood. Titles such as Mood Indigo, Perdido and So What get my creative juices going. I listen to jazz while I am working. The figurative features such as jazz cats and instruments give me forms to play with in order to construct the compositions. Cats as  musicians become one with their instruments while striking interpretive dance-like poses.
